Alpha is a series of sessions exploring the basics of the Christian faith.
Typically run over nine weeks, each session looks at a different question about faith and is designed to create conversation. It’s just an open, informal and honest space to explore and discuss life’s big questions together.

What does Alpha look like?
Alpha is run in local communities all around the world, and everyone’s welcome. No two Alphas look the same, but generally they have three key things in common: food, a talk and good conversation.

Who is Alpha for?

Everyone is welcome to explore the Alpha course. People attend for a wide variety of reasons. Some want to investigate whether God exists and if there is any point to life; others are concerned about what happens after death. Still, others may have attended church on and off all their lives but felt they have never really understood the basics of the Christian faith. People come from many different backgrounds, holding many different viewpoints, but all come with the same objective: to establish whether Jesus Christ has any real relevance for their lives.

 A Typical Evening at Alpha

At Parkwood, the Alpha course runs on Tuesdays from 6:00 to 8:15 pm, beginning with a full dinner, then a short video talk exploring various aspects of the Christian faith, then a discussion time around the table where guests can ask any questions and discuss freely with others. There is no cost, however, registration is required.

What about my Kids?
Our adult sessions are baby/child free zones. Alpha Kids is available during adult sessions from 6:00 to 8:15 PM for children from infant to grade 5.  Limited space is available and a minimum number may be required for this program to proceed.
